Honda 9.9 mid 90's cooling

We I start the motor the water squirts out just as it should, my question, after I open the the engine up the stream begins to dwindle to the point it goes away. I slow down, the water starts squirting, rev up, and it start to disappear. Is it normal?-

Seems abnormal to me. How often do you run this motor and when was the last time you replaced the water pump impeller? If you don't run it very often or haven't run it for a while, and haven't replaced the impeller in over a year, suggest you consider getting a water pump service kit and installing it. Just my 2?, good luck.
