Motor runs great until it hits 3800 RPM! Changed all oil sensors, spark plugs and fuel filters and still has the same problem. Motor has great water discharge. Any Ideas?

Probably electrical parts issues : exciter coil, CD, ignition coils shuttig down engine when any of them heats excesively ? If so will need to troubleshoot electrically with a service manual and meter.

Re: Honda BF135 Shutdown at 3800rpm

Sea Rider Thanks for the info.

Here's the short story. Honda shop ran a diognostic: ECM Comm Failure, CKP Sensor no pulse. For some reason if the motor is over rev'd the shim under the crank sensor will drop in the case and the flywheel will drop. All it adds up to is a new Head. This is one is the 3rd
BF135 that I've seen in the past 2 summers. We have a fleet of 8.

Hope this helps anyone else. If you have the same issue as we have don't take my post to heart. Do some of your own troubleshooting
1st. Start with all your fule filters and pump prior as you can see in a post on a BF225.

Thanks!
