Just curious about the Honda BF15 outboards and their dependability,...along
with cost of overall regular maintenance. I am asking this because I am seriously considering this motor over a 15 Merc for a 2010 Lund A-14 utility-v
bottopm boat I am hoping,...and planning,...to trade in the old Sea Nymph
14R for next spring or early summer. I seen a video of a similar Honda motor
on www.youtube.com(it was a BF20,BTW),and from what the video showed,
it was quiet and ran beautifully at full throttle. It also started quickly with
electric start. Now,do they start as quick with a manual rope start? I ask
that as well since I am strongly considering manual start in order to keep
costs within budget on the entire boat/motor/trailer package. I was going to consider only Mercury, but I have had a change of heart, and feel I ought to
go with Honda instead. I want a reliable little fishing motor I can depend on
and one that will run clean, quiet, and be fuel efficient. Being a small outboard,
would the BF15 be expensive to maintain?
