'06 bf 225 with 400 hrs never any issues till now. We drove for about 2 hrs in calm ocean conditions with motor running fine - after fishing on the kicker for an hour we started the motor to move and it started fine but would only rev to 3800 dies back and then goes back to 3800 and dies back again. THe motor starts up and idles fine.
Here's what we tried so far testing after each attempt with no change:
- Drained the racor, on motor water seperator & VST- no water or junk found
- Replaced O2 sensor
- Replaced all filters (including high pressure)
- drained the gas tank & added fresh gas (I use Startron at each fill up)
- checked plugs & compression - looked fine
Took to dealer:
- checked for air in fuel low pressure side - they seemed to think the problem would be here
- they checked the VST - looked good
- they replaced the low pressure fuel pump
- charged me $900- still didn't work
- Back home I ran a fuel line from the tank bypassing the check valve, racor & prime bulb - put a clear tube on the fuel line in front of the engine filter and showed good flow with no air -
- Dealer came out and we tested with his computer hooked up and found no trouble codes or anything out of ordinary
- Dealer is confounded and is going to consult with Honda
Next I'm thinking of having the injectors cleaned and tested but I'll wait to here from Honda first.
Has anyone had a similar issues they solved?
