Honda BF50L

This is getting frustrating. I have a older Honda BF50L I believe it to be a 5HP.. But evrytime I search for info or parts it takes to to 50HP stuff..Why the heck did they do something so stupid in model nomenclature..

that's right, the reason : older Honda ref. was like that, e.g. BF5A = BF50 (5hp), this link :

and I guess that's the same about the BF50L = BF5L (5hp)
check if searching "BF5" you have some infos and parts from this page :

Heres the motor I am looking for parts for..I need the hood..It was lost. I am ceratin it is no longer available from Honda..But hard to search when I do not even know the year. Thanks

That looks like a serial number tag in the one picture. Most manufacturers let you search for parts using the motor serial number.

Well I will figure out more now that I have it in my possession. I just hope I did not get ripped off at 150.00 and I can find a hood and get it up and running..Thanks

Thanks..I have it running but I think the fuel pump is weak. I ordered one of those and a waterpump kit too. It seems to be fine right now. But will likely change it anyway since I do not know when it was done last and it is a simple job....Found a hood too..Or I hope it is the right one..They say it is..

Well this stinks..I ordered a hood, they said they had it, paid for it. Then they called an Hour later and said they were mistaken and refunded me.. So disappointed..

Anyone have any ideas to look? Is there some kind of used parts locator like they have for car salvage? Thanks
