I was given a Honda bf75 7.5 HP I'm guessing it is a late 90s model. Very clean looks brand new. was told there was only 4 hours use. had been sitting in garage for years. when i stared everything worked fine fired rite up. when it settles down into idle position though is start to spew gas from carburetor. there are two holes one on the upper front and one upper back of carburetor. like i said when the engine idles the gas comes spewing. I took the carburetor off today and it was very clean on inside but still no luck. anyone had this problem?? any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Re: honda bf75

Sounds like the float is stuck, very comon after sitting for a wile without use. Easy fix though, just pull the bowl off the bottom of the carb and remove the float, the pin just slides out though if the float is stuck the pin probbobly is to so you will have to find something to push it out with. when you remove the pin be carefull not to lose the valve as it will fall right out without the float holding it in. Remove the valve and clean it and the hole it came out of and make sure to work the valve in and out and clean it again before puting it back together all the way.
