Honda BF90A2 Anodes

Has anyone changed the water jacket anodes/zincs in a BF90? I also read that for freshwater that Zinc anodes are not recommended. Can anyone tell me if this is true? The only anodes I have seen are zinc.

Magnesium anodes are better to use in freshwater, but if you do use the zinc anodes,they will still continue to protect your outboard as electrolysis will occur. Better zinc than nothing.
