Honda vs Yamaha

I have three Hondas (35 jet, 20, 2). I love all of these engines. I was speaking with my mechanic today and it was his opinion that Yamaha makes the best outboards (he's a Johnson/Evinrude repairman).

What do you think? Who wins the better engine competition, Honda or Yamaha?

Evinrude all the way...imo

Seriously, I had a older Yammy that alwas ran great, she was a little cold blooded but once warmed up she ran great all day.

I see the local Coast Guard (Green Bay Wis.) is running Hondas on the back of there RIBs so im thinking they must be pretty good motors also.

Yamaha is better. Suzuki is more on the cutting edge then Honda is these days.

My mechanic's main beef with Honda is that he believes that they have weak/poor lower units. Since my 50 is a 50/35 outboard jet I don't have to worry about the lower unit.
