I bought a boat and the motor is a BF115 2008
Dealer told me that the motor had 20 hours on it.

There is no hourmeter on the boat.
Is there a place where it can be hidden?

Anyway.
I was thinking about replacing the tachometer with a tachometer/hourmeter.

Is that difficult?
Can I just buy a new gauge and replace it?
Just curious

Re: HONDA115 hourmeter?

The on board computer stores the actual running time. The hour meter on my new 225 was showing 98 hours and the on board computer was showing 88. The tach hour meter runs all the time the key is on whether the engine is running or not. If the dealer told you 20 hours I think you can rely on that number unless you know the previous owner, if it was a used motor.

Re: HONDA115 hourmeter?

Thank you.
So how do you keep track of the hours?
Do you write it down?

Or how do you check with the onbaord computer? do you need to take the boat to a mechanic?
Or can you do that at home?

Thanks for the help.
Cheers,
Jm
