Re: Honest mistake

I went to school with a guy named George Harold Strange. Naturally we called him Hal. I lost track of him but I guess he became a sales rep for an ag chemical company. He walked into my office one day and plopped down his business card. G. Hal Strange....I swear to God.
My daughter is married to a guy named Knight. They have a son named Mason. I know for a fact they have never heard of the wood product of that name. I don't have the heart to tell them...yet.

The real Ima Hogg -
"Ima Hogg (1882-1975), philanthropist and patron of the arts, daughter of Sarah Ann (Stinson) and Governor James Stephen Hogg, was born in Mineola, Texas, on July 10, 1882. She had three brothers, William Clifford Hogg, born in 1875; Michael, born in 1885; and Thomas Elisha Hogg, born in 1887. Ima was named for the heroine of a Civil War poem written by her uncle Thomas Elisha and was affectionately known as Miss Ima for most of her long life. She was eight years old when her father was elected governor; she spent much of her early life in Austin.... "

A local legend has it that Governor Hogg had another daughter named Youra, but that's not true.

Went to high school with a girl named Mary, years later she married a guy with the last name Poppin.

Don't you think she should have ruled that guy out as soon as she heard his last name.

My wife's maiden name is Whiteside.

My BIL is a big-whig for a large company. He was going to dinner one night at a fancy resturant and had called in reservations. When they got to the resturant, he approached the hostess and and said "Whiteside"....the hostess leaned into him and whispered...."Sir, we do not discriminate here..."

My MIL's name is Gay Nell...she was traveling with me & the wife on a "family pass" on my favorite airline, "space available," meaning you give up your seat to paying passengers. We had boarded already and just about settled in when the flight attendant approached and said "Are you Gay?"
"Yes."
"Then I need to ask you to get your things and come with me."

Re: Honest mistake

When I was in the Coast Guard, we had a new Lt checking on board and I looked at his name tag and his last name was we****. I asked him why he didn't change it when he turned 18 (Wether it was true or not), he never really did answer me. But, it was funny to see the reactions of everyone whenever his name was anounced on the loud speakers.

My Brothers friend's last name was bonum, and she named her little girl Satin Blue. You know that kid is going through a living hell at school.

Craig
