Clearly the truck has hit the pole. I don't think ANYBODY missed that fact. The coolant puddle is a nice indication that the truck has struck the pole, but so is the pole that the truck is partially wrapped around.
The crumpled hood, bumper, and front quarter panel are all evidence that the truck made contact with the pole that it's wrapped around, as well...
But the tongue on the trailer has also failed.
So the question is, did the truck hit the pole because the trailer failed, or did the trailer fail when the truck hit the pole?
My guess is that these folks got drunk on the lake, loaded up the boat, forgot to strap it down. Drive away, too drunk to navigate a turn, hit the pole, which stops their forward movement. The boat, not being strapped down, continues it's forward movement up the bow support pillar on the trailer, which angles the bow upward and over the truck.
As the boat continues traveling up the bow support, the full weight of the boat was transferred to the bow support, and in turn, to the trailer tongue, which causes the tongue to fail. The boat continues forward a few more feet, before coming gently to rest on top of the cab.
Drunk A**holes stagger out of the truck, and wonder aloud, "wah-happen?".
