honeymoon island flats, clearwater, fl, sharks!!!

hi to everybody who has heard of honeymoon island in clearwater, fl, or is it dunedin?<br /><br />went fishin and camping on the islands with 2 john boats in mid junes and went out to the very north tip of honeymoon by 3 rooker bar.used dead mullet(about 12 inches long) for bait, with a circle hook and very large wight about 5 feet from hook on a 80 pound steel leader. motord the line about 100 yards out into the flats, we were fishing from the islands beach.<br /><br />had 2 poles.<br /><br />pole 1 caught a 3 foot black tip<br />pole 2 caught a 6 foot black tip, had to get on the boat and chase it around, it pulled our boat like we were skiing.....<br /><br />check it out<br /><br />m ikey<br /><br />ps. free boat launching at pop stansel park, a palm harbor city park, and you can leave boat there over night, but its a sand ramp, not a cement ramp<br /><br />m ikey

never done reds, actually.... but what ive seen is you need to get to the real skinny water, and be wuite about it too, real quiet, ive seen guys go at night, under a full moon, and throw handfulls of shrimp and youll see a bunch of fins sticking up , thats where you should cast<br /><br />m ikey
