I have a scoured cylinder wall. It is too expensive to have it bored. Is it possible to hone out 30 thousands?

Not likely. To get a perfect hone you must have the steadiness of an Olympic sharpshooter. This is clearly a case where going on the cheap will turn out to be the most expensive.

I concur. Spend the $40-$50 bucks to have it bored correctly. Nothing like buying oversize pistons & rings, and new gaskets, only to have a ring catch a port or the pistons stick first time out. Cheap? I think not...

If its the 99 6hp you have , junk it. The oil pump is not avaliable say's BRP site. I would not rebuild it unless I could replace pump. My $.02.........

I'm talking about the 99 6 hp. model. I don't know much about engines. Does it have an oil pump?

If it is a 2 stroke, then no.

I just had my cylinders bored out .030 on my 60HP. Came out really well...I blew up a piston and scuffed up one cylinder really bad, but all three cylinders were pretty worn out.
