Sounds like you may need to take a summer vacation and get away from all the drama next door. Otherwise, video camera is good in case vandalism does happen and I'd keep the firearms loaded and ready just in case things get bad fast.

Typically, these things tend to fizzle real fast. People are usually not all that bad, and if you've proven that you will call the police, they tend to go away without causing real problems. However, just in case... make sure you are protected. Do not advertise any weapons. Stay out of site to avoid inflaming the situation. Protect your property and rights.

hood rat update....

The owner of the property showed up this morning to do an walk thue inspection and was not a happy man. Turns out the guy whom owned it when we bought our house, the slum loard, sold all his properties to a new owner. The new owner is a real down to earth, take no bulls*** type of guy. I heard him speaking in a very loud voice that he was not happy with the condition of the house and the land it sits on. About 20 min after he arrived to do the inspection he came over and had a nice long chat with my wife and I. Wanted to know what type of problems we were having if with them. Let me tell you, he got an earful. Said he was ready to kick them out when he got there but is now going to have them served. He then walked back over to the hood rats and served them with a verbal eviction notice. I'm guessing there will be a court battle to get these people to move since they have a couple of kids about 3 years old.

Holy cow....as I sit here typing this reply there are cops out in front of there house....looks like a drug bust or something...tried to get pictures but the police woild't let me....

I'll update later again tonight with more details

Glad to hear that the new owner is not another slum lord too. Sounds like he is the real deal and going to do something about it. I can only hope for you that it will not be a long drawn out ordeal.

Ok, I am hooked now, whats the update? Keep us informed!

That's a tough situation, because you certainly don't want to discourage anyone from dealing with your dopey neighbors, but if you're not interfering with what is going on, blocking a street, etc., you can take all the photos that you want. You really should not have been told to stop.

Re: Hood Rats are at it AGAIN!! Rant to Follow

My first house,we had two sets of bad neighbors. One right in back of us with 5 dogs, and one was being trained as a competition attack dog. There were 3 Dobies, 1 shepard and 1 small dog. The dog crap in his back yard made my yeard unbearable to be in, as teh prevailing winds were from that direction.
I went over there many times and complained, to no avail. Then I called animal control. They did nothing. Then I went to county hall. The open field full of crap was a health and zoning violation. 5 dogs was a county ordinance violation.
So, with all this info, I went there again and stated heres the county regs. I don't want to file a written complaint, but unless something is done......
Within a week, he made and installed a small septic tank for the dog crap and shovelled it into the opening and washed it down. No more small. He gave away 2 dogs (they did not have the right stuff for competition training). We actually became friends, as once he saw wasn't afraid of him, and the law was on my side.....
Now, neighbor # 2. Alcoholic Bubba type (redneck).
He would park his pickup on his front lawn and turn up the country station on the radio to 3 dB above the threshold of pain. ( Actually I could just barely hear it, but the same songs over, and over,.....)
The kept time by beating on the hood of the truck. This, of course was while drinking, and I don't mean beer. I wished he would get a job so we would know what he was unemployed as. Note: the wife was good people, and we felt sorry for her.
One day, I was looking out the window, and seen him go to a bush in the side yard, and pull out the bottle, drink some and replace it. I went out there, poured out the bottle, and replaced it with vinegar laced with cyanne pepper. Next day, bottle was gone.
He took off with a younger woman, and wife divorced him. About a year and a half later, Bubba shows up at her front door, and pushes his way in, claiming its his house and wife. After hearing all the commotion, Her new husband comes out of the bedroom, and old husband starts toward him saying hes going to kick his lower posterior. New husband produces his badge (sherrifs detective) and his .357. Old husband leaves.
New husband came over to my house and told me if the old one shows up, shoot him and/or call me.
Old husband never came back.
Sometimes these problems work themselves out; if they don't, thats where a .357 works...

I agree..Especially if you were on your property, and even if you werent.
Only thing would be if the LEO's were gang unit officers and are camera shy, but I don't think to be the case....

And as far as the .357 working out problems.I have the S&W 686..but my favorite attitude changer is my Military Issue WW2 Remington made 1911 in good ol .45 auto.
This was my CC pistol of choice during the Rodney King inspired L.A. Riots, but those are stories for another thread..

I really hope that there will be no further problems/retribution for ya on this..Scum like this blame honest law abiding citizens for getting THEM in trouble...stupid arses....

just because they move, dont let your guard down, low life do have memories, and may show up a few months later for revenge.

better to make it a point to write down who they are, and put it away for future reference. a piece of mail with their name on it. and there licence plate numbers would be useful if needed to Id them later.

This couldn't be more true. I once yelled at a guy who threw a beer bottle out his truck window. The guy drove off and returned 20 mins later and unloaded a .40 cal pistol at me. And that was just for littering! Luckily for me his aim sucked at bad as his concern for the environment.

Some people are just meant for prison, some of those people have no fear of returning, either.

Did they catch the tool who did that? Did you recover slugs? Some people's mom'd should have swallowed.

We had some idiots shoot up our old neighborhood, which is rural, because my wife's cousin, who lived a 1/2 mile down the road, was a detention center guard.
Some prisoner ended up dead, and his "boys" didn't take to that I guess.

I can completely emphasize with ya here... We had neighbors from h*ll who threw wild parties all hours in the rental next door. We got the owner's name and let him know what was going on and also called the sheriff's office to file complaints. It took a couple of months but the knuckleheads finally were evicted but the poor dud who owned the house took about 15 grand in damage because they were those vindictive type of people. Hope it all works out for ya and keep an eye on who comes and goes in the hood, good luck, and stand you ground. In Florida we have a law called the Castle Doctrine. You threaten me on my property and I have the right to drop you on the spot... permanently. M1, 12 gauge, or 9 mil, doesn't matter... you're gonna a serious case of lead poisoning if you threaten my family.
