I just installed a 1970 60 HP Evinrude (Model 60073)with electric shift on my boat. The kill switch is mounted on the dash. What wire in the control box would I have to splice into?
Thanks,
Copus

Re: Hook up kill switch

On that model, in order to kill the engine, the voltage to the powerpack must be cut off. There used to be a kill switch that could be attached directly to the ignition switch, that when pulled, turned the key to the off position.

Unfortunately I cnnot remember if OMC made that switch or if it was a third party item. Hopefully someone else here can fill in that info.

Re: Hook up kill switch

Copus.... It just dawned on me that it was indeed made by OMC but unfortunately they are no longer available. But fortunately (grin), if you would like to have one, I found that I do have one left in stock. List is about $26.00. I'd sell this one for $12.00. If interested, contact me via ReevesJ32@aol.com
