I have a 1983 7.5hp mercury Outboard with electric start. I don't know where to hook the positive lead from the battery to the motor. Does anyone have the diagram for this. I unhooked last year and don't remember where it goes back to. Signs of age I guess. LOL Any help here would be greatly appeciated.

There are two large terminals on the starter solenoid. One of those large lugs feeds the starter. The other is where the large battery cable goes.

I know that is the way it should be, but the solenoid does not have 2 large lugs on it. The Solenoid has 2 small lugs, one of which feeds the starter with a yellow wire.

There is no solenoid on that engine, just the start push buttom the + from the battery goes to 1 post and the starter lead to the other one
