hooking up new alternator

I recently purchased a new alternator for my 7.4 motor. Im having some second thoughts regarding where to hook the red and black wires to the new one. Im really not that comfortable working with electronics, lol...I know where the purple and red bullet connectors go to, that's not the issue. Ive tried contacting the place where I bought it from but all that they tell me is to hire a technician....

So, does the new alternator have a purple, a red/purple, and orange and a black? If so just hook em to the same colors. (with the batteries unhooked btw)
And didn't the new alternator have a diagram? If not tell us the name and brand, maybe we can find install info for you.
