I need to run a wire from the signal of the tachometer to a terminal or wire originating from the unrectified side of the alternator. Where would I find that on this outboard? I hope the pictures can help you in directing me to that wire or terminal.

I had this same tachometer hooked up to a 55hp Bearcat, and later, a 60hp Mariner (both hooked up to the throttle console), but this Evinrude has me stumped.

Thanks for your assistance!

I found the proper connection. It is to the yellow & blue wire on the terminal strip and the tach works great!

Or you could have just plugged it into the control box if this motor is not a tiller model.

It's a console model, but the control box has no wiring of any kind, it was made that way (maybe the economy model). It just has the levers and cables for the throttle and shifter. The 2 previous outboards and control box were a cinch - just hook up the signal wire from the tach to the grey wire in the control box that went with the outboard.
