Well I hope I have my engine stalling at idle in gear issues fixed. Rebuilt VRO pump today and the engine is idling(on muffs) much smoother than it was before. Thus far I've found a pathetic fuel hose(was definitely due to be replaced) and the VRO failed the pressure test prescribed in the manual so figured a rebuild was in order. Tomorrow will be the lake test so everyone keep your fingers crossed for me. If it still isn't fixed next course of action is carb rebuild, after seeing the shape of the other items wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't needed anyways. I stopped at a marine parts (evinrude/Johnson) dealer in the city that I work to order my VRO rebuild kit, he informed me without looking at the book that the kit is not available, have to purchase new pump(400 bucks). So i checked with my local in town marine dealer and what do you know, rebuild kit available for 48 dollars with tax, pays to shop a couple different places. I had already located the part numbers on the BRP site just in case they didn't want to sell me one either. well I should quit rambling, wish me luck with the real test on the lake tomorrow.

Run the engine on pre-mix until you verify the VRO is working properly.

Planned on getting a gallon of oil today to do just that. Figure better safe than sorry. I suspect it'll be fine, oil side was working well, fuel side was what I was having problems with. I couldn't believe the difference I saw just on the muffs. Before it was shaking and going on something awful, now it idles smoothly, with just a little bit of a vibration, but seems normal comparied with the other outboards I've experienced. I'm confident it's fixed unless there's yet another issue on down the road that's just waiting for me.
