I started the following thread in hopes of getting some thoughts as to what my problem might be but didn't get much feed back.

I have since searched a little harder and found that there's a good chance it is my fuel tank, fuel line that needs work or replacing. So, maybe I can get some help with a more simple question.
I'm a pretty good ways from where I fish and hunt, so I don't want to try something...and then have to run 50 miles to the coast to see if it works. Can I put a metal trash can under my 15hp 4 stroke and fill it full of water to run at WOT? Should I remove the prop? yes/no? It seems if I don't remove the prop it would just throw all the water out of the can.
