Baseline:

WOT @ 40 degrees BTDC :O
Initial pickup-----??? the collar had shifted



NOW:

WOT @ 25 degrees BTDC
Initial pickup at 4 degrees BTDC

Havent had the chance to put it in the water yet for the rest.

Do my #'s sound right to you gurus??

initially I tried using the post in the FAQ but found it confusing. So out came the mercury manual. (pictures)

The trigger collar had spun.


First thing I did was set the dissy to 23 btdc and set the advance screw. Then adjusted back to 4 btdc

Then adjusted the trigger collar so that it was just touching the carb cluster

then adjusted wot screw per manual

haven't had it in the water yet.

Advanced timing to 4 NTSC then adjusted trigger collar to just touching the carb cluster.

Phew thanks!!

I'm amazed that the timing was at 40 btdc and it was even running.
