Bryant Gumbell left a little to be desired when it came to accuracy and insight when doing NFL play-by-play. Unfortunately, I feel that way about the majority of network NFL guys. I usually keep the TV on mute and listen to the local radio guys who know the game, the team, and the inside scoop.

I don't get the NFL network, and only watched one game at a friends house last year. I sure did not want to have to pay for the broadcasting I heard. So, with that said, can it get any worse? It HAS to get better, doesn't it?

When I watch a sporting event better than 75% of the time I turn the sound down. I can't stand the trivial jibberish and spin by the people commenting on the game. I am quite capable of doing my own "arm chair quarterbacking" .... and I do it for fun!

I doubt the network will loose anyone with Gum-ball leaving. ;)

Similar to watching golf..... I laugh when the people start to whisper and they are actually in a booth so far away no one actually hears them anyway.

I always hated that about golf broadcasters. They aren't standing right next to the green, they are in a booth or at least a stand where they could talk in their normal speaking voices and there is no way the golfer could hear them. Anyway, I'm glad to see Gumbel out of there. NFL Network is my favorite channel, but the broadcasting needs to improve significantly for next season.
