So it's now the last long weekend of the summer here in Canada, the Labour Day long weekend. Naturally, we're spending what little warm weather we have on the boat. Ah, the boat. So far it has been fantastic. However, I thought I would take some time to express the few little problems we've had so far, maybe to see if others have had the same, and what they did to fix them.
1. Perhaps the biggest of the problems, is severe vibration at low speeds. With the 3.0L, i was told the engine takes some time to warm up, after which there should be little or no vibration. Unfortunately, it has vibrated ever since we first launched in June. After the 20H maintenance, the dealer said it was misaligned, however the vibration persists to this day. The interesting part is that it vibrates at low speed above idle, then is lost altogether when throttled up and dropped down.
2. Bow rider hand hold came loose after a few hours, but was repaired at the 20H service.
3. Captain's bolster seat now spins freely. Have checked some other threads, and have heard that this is a common problem. Was fixed at the 20H service, but is now back in the same condition. Has a recall been issued on this problem?
4. Finally, we have the standard seating layout, with the two side jump seats. On the engine cover, there are two screws holding the hatch down, that are felt through the fabric, possibly because of a longer screw choice than necessary. Was fixed at the 20H.
Hopefully, others can voice their experiences, although I ahve to say that dealing with Four Winns has been terrific, and the boat has been marvelous.
