Horn stopped working

Hello All,

I have a J90TLCUR ('87 90hp) Johnson that I am putting back on the boat after some renovations. When I wired her up, the warning horn worked, gave its little chirp when the key was turned. Ran her on muffs for 15 min or so, warmed up and idled great. After I turned her off, the warning horn stopped beeping. I have confirmed 12v to the horn, and have tried grounding the temp sensor wires, still nothing. How do I test the horn itself? Do I ground the sensor tab? I tried this and nothing, does this mean my horn died?

to make matters more confusing, i think the controls are not the same year as the motor. there are two horns hooked up, one with 2 wires, the other with 3. The three wire horn is the one that used to chirp with the key and sound when the engine sensor wires were grounded. I tried wiring up the 2 wire but it gave me a constant low buzz when hooked up.

Sounds like she is toast. They are kinda expensive to replace as well, for what they are.

Replaced it, found one on fleabay for cheap. Tested with key and grounding temp sensor wires, works as it should. yay.
