6 of us went to Bolder Creek in Hicksville (11802) last week and all 6 were very satisfied. The "free" stuff (refills-non alcoholic, coffee) comes before the one you have is empty. While you have a waitress/waitor, the nearest one brings refills and stuff like more dip etc. The food was good too. It is a chain operation but I don't hold that against them. As for price, they don't give anything away but I don't expect them to. The service is so good every time we go that you know management is involved.

I just put "No tip poor service" on the credit reciept and patronize other places. Good service always gets 20%. All the resturaunts in my neck of the woods are hurting for bussiness. I haven't had to wait longer than 5 mins for a table for 6 months or so. Sure miss having drinks at the bar while waiting for a table.

I don't understand why people go to these chain restaurants. Ok I can understand going to one that is in the middle of no where like that the Chili's on Hwy 59 half way between Houston and Victoria but only because it is in the middle of no where.

It really blows my mind when we go out to eat in TX or New Orleans or where-ever and somebody wants to go get something they can get anywhere and it is going to be the same! The microwave wattage may change but the food still comes from the same processor.

Eat local, shop local, be local

no kidding. the dive I mentioned is top notch. the owner (Bob, great guy) is there every day and is always wandering around checking on customers. Top notch service, drinks arent watered down, the guy smokes his own meats, ribs are to die for. Heck at 6:30PM every night they toss out a bowl of wings, cheese n crackers and pickeled herring for the whole place to snack on.

not going to get that at a chain place.

We had a place like that, went belly up when chili's and applebees and fridays and red lobster and and and and opened up.

We used to like the place alot.

Oh well we do have a great old style diner best food ever, never had a bad meal in there.

Most of our "local" resturaunts are either Mexican or Thai. We must have 10 Thai places for a town of 70,000 and no noticeable Thai population. Even more Mexican. I envy you guys in the South with your great BBQ joints. We only have Famus Daves. My wife and I don't see each other much during the week, She's 1st and I'm 2nd shift, so we like go go out to eat on the weekends.
