just wondering if somebody can tell me horsepower of mercury outboard brought seconhand no horsepower wrote on it blueband with serial no
5606796 thanks kevin i have a 9.9 merc and it is much larger than that one it is 2 cylinder

It's early 80's but almost the entire HP range from 2.2 to 300 would have that serial number.

How about some more clues or better yet, a picture or 2? How many cylinders?

I come up with a 1981 3.9 hp.

I would very much love to know how you nailed down the HP. What list are you referencing?

I have a pdf file of Merc engine specs with serial #'s. (actually a few)
Can't remember where I got it. It's a great reference as I seem to accumulate old Mercs.
Be happy to email it to you...pm me if interested.
