Hose connector

I have an 06 Yamaha 4 stroke 60 HP.......I'm trying to get some tips on winterizing.....There is a regular water hose connector inside my cover that is connected to something...seems like when I bought the boat I was told that I need to disconnect it and then connect it to a regular water hose and flush it out....but when I ask about winterizing, I'm told to flush it out with ear muffs....nobody mentions the connector and I'm a bit confused as to what the connector is for.....any advice will be appreciated...Thanks

Hose connector for "engine off" flushing with a garden hose......you need to run the motor on "muffs" while winterizing
