I have A 91 evinrude vro 60hp . the hot horn will go off after about 20 minutes of running. Motor does not seem to be hot and it is peeing strong. It did not have this problem until a local mechanic installed a new hot horn. Any advice is appreciated

Re: hot horn problem

Panhandle....if you can lay your finger on the flat are on top just forward of the head while the horn is going off and you don't have to jerk your finger back.....

The temp sensor may be bad, or possibly the horn module is bad. If your sure it's not overheating, take it back to the wrench.

Just another possibility....while the horn is going off, disconnect the temp sensor. Look for a tan wire from the head with a boot over the knife connector. Disconnect it. If the horn continues to blow, module is bad.

But do make sure it's not overheating.

Check the temp sensor for blue stripe on sensor pigtail. If no blue stripe, sensor should be changed. There are other Services Bulletins for overheating and burnt cylinders that should be check. One more tech that does not check his work.
