Hi everyone im back again and before i ask my question i want to thank everyone in this great community who have been so helpful getting my boat ready to use its gone a long way we are currently have hard times with money so i cant pay anyone to do the work on my boat i have learned so much from you guys that i doubt ill ever have to take *** to someone again!! and that's the best part !! thank you seriously!!! when bought this boat about 3 weeks ago it didn't even start!! now it starts and all the accessories Just have one issue that is worrying me if i get close to WOT for a few minutes my overheat sensor will bEEEEEEEEEp constant just like that i checked the pisser and its pushes the stream of water with pretty good pressure but it is steaming hot!! the weird thing is that it alternates itll be steaming for about 10 seconds then cool then steaming then cool is this normal? From what Ive read on other forums the first thing i should replace is the water pump impaler and housing since i don't know when the last time the last owner did it but i was wondering if you guys can tell me if in headed in the right direction . also i replaced the thermostat on the right side but not the left yet but i will when i get payed could this also be the issue?
thank you!!!

Re: hot water out my pisser!!!

It sure sounds like a thermostat problem. I would stop running it until you change the second one. Water should not go from steam to cool. Sounds like the stat is not opening soon enough. Get that done before you have other, expensive problems caused by overheating. Best of luck. Rick.
P.S. you should always give us your year, HP., and as much detail as you can.

Re: hot water out my pisser!!!

1989 Evinrude tracker xp pro 150 hp model : te150slcem

is my outboards year and model

I removed the thermostat housing on the left side and the thermostat works fine but the poppet valve was completely melted beyond recognition !!
DO you guys think that could have been the cause? Also there seems to be a lot of sand that deposits on the side that i put the new thermostat in is there any way to flush that out I'm worried it will ruin the new stuff i put in
thank you

ANd mike ill write how i changed my thermostats in your thread ok
