House Battery Issue

I have a 2009 Sanpan pontoon boat. Recently I was not getting auxiliary power unless the boat was running. I charged the house battery but it would not fully charge, so I went and had it tested and sure enough it was a old bad battery. I replaced the battery with a new one.

Then I started the boat everything worked and the VSR module light came on, but when I shut the engine off the VSR would stay on for about 10 seconds along with auxiliary power. Then the light would shut off and I would lose my auxiliary power. Yesterday I started the boat and now I have no auxiliary power and the VSR module light does not come on. Also my starter battery is new as of this year.

My configuration is a starter battery and a house battery each with a separate on/off switch and a VSR module between the 2 switches. I did take the house battery switch out and check for continuity and it was good. Could it be the VSR module? Or something else?

Any help is appreciated.

Sure.

Remove it.
Charge both batteries.
Then see if all works.

Don't know what brand relay you have, but there must be a way to test it.
In my experience, most shops probably won't help, but will talk you into buying a new one.

Thanks Roscoe. I will try that out in the morning. Not sure what brand of relay I have but I will remove it tomorrow and take a look.
