Logic is irritating if yer positions are totally illogical.[/COLOR]:D:D

Absolutely. The modern liberal lives in the illusion of an altruistic world. He believes it is the responsibility of man to provide for the village. "Tax the rich to feed the poor." It sounds noble if you don't take a closer look at the deceipt and hypocracy of it.

Take a lib who believes we should take from the rich to feed the poor. He has to start by defining who is rich and who is poor. Of course, he always places himself closer to poor than rich (this relieves his own sense of personal responsibility). This leaves him in a position to demand that others (the rich) do what he (the poor) can not. His guilty conscience is relieved without any penalty on his part!

If a liberal/socialist truely believed in his convictions, he would make huge steps to relieve the suffering of his fellow man. He would invite the homeless into his home. He would feed the poor from his own refrigerator. He would live in an apartment and donate all of his surplus income to socialist causes.

So why don't we see george soros, warren buffett, barbara streisand, sean penn, PW2, willybwright, and treedancer selling all they own to help the cause? If they believe in it so strongly, why are they not acting upon their own convictions?

This leads to the only question left to ask- is liberalism a mental disorder?

Nice writeup there, RF.

Of course the answer to your question is simple, they want to SOUND like they are for the poor because it makes them "feel" good. It's the same thing the 400 dollar haircut guy tries to do. I'd be willing to bet if Haut, Tree, WBW and many others would walk by a homeless guy they wouldn't even make eye contact, much less throw the guy a buck for food. Here I am a hard core conservative and on more than one occasion when I went downtown I helped out a couple of homeless fellahs. I am, by not even liberal standards, rich. I don't buy into any of the crap the libs sell me about the homeless, most of the homeless are indeed homeless because they choose to be. If they'd put as much time and money into finding a place to live and a job rather than into booze, they wouldn't be homeless. Still, I feel sorry for them and will do it for the Lord, not to make myself feel better. It doesn't make me feel better. It makes me feel like I'm feeding the fire. Still, I do it.

I, for one, don't like to be categorized according to some dim wit dem's criteria. Who says I'm poor? Who says I'm rich? Who says I should pay more taxes? Doesn't sound like a democracy or even a republic to me, sounds like socialism/communism.

You really are the dimmest bulb on dockside arnt you? Too suggest that you know what your talking about too even suggest that you know what another person is doing for charity is/has to be the dumbest, of the dumb things you ever have ever posted. Here is a sample of what I do every month, 12 hours of volunteer work at the Jefferson Barracks VA hospital St Lous , Some times I volunteer at the North St louis facility.

Attend VFW meetings once a month if I,m in town ,we have an on going fund to help out local Vets that fall behind on there house payments because of being called to active service. Now tell me again about flipping a few coins to a homeless person. While your at it why arnt you in Iraq, according to your profile you should have no problem getting in unless you don’t meet the …. me… eerrr…. the qualifications?
