Funny,

I have one of only two YellowJackets known to exist. Mine also has the distinction of being the only hovercraft John Deere ever made.

I also have a Neoteric Questrek, which is what the racer evolved into.

Hovercrafting is such a gas. Looks like you're well on your way. By the way, the engines are finiky and mine is hard to start once it's warmed up. I'm looking for an automatic choke to add to the dual carbs to see if this will deal with it.

Re: Hovercraft; Neoteric Racer Rebuild

This is my final post on this project: In a nutshell.

Since my oct 2003 post. I mucked around with it a little bit and hunting season took over. Somehow in the meantime hunting seaso 2004 rolled around and I purchesed a new four wheeler for my elk hunt, part of the agrement was I would sell the craft come spring. It was my intention to finish it in the meantime but the incentive to finish it diminished without the promise of the fun. I did get the cylinders honed and rings seated but had not looked into the spark issue.

So Last week I put it up for auction and sold it, The person who bought it found this thread. I have invited him to join iboats and perhaps he will start a new thread amd keep us posted on how it turns out.
