rodbolt is orrect.
A carb works off of air pressure.
I remember as a young mechanic hearing a design engineer explain this. Every mechanic in the shop laughed at him. It's hard to imagine a piston not sucking the mixture down into the combustion chamber.

So, when do we get into static pressure and air flow?:D

I swear they need to rename vacuum cleaners to pressure differential dirt lifting machines.
Its all in the word.... "vacuum" that throws of everybody.
