Re: how ambitious is this repair?

Actually I am gonna pass on this one and opt for a boat with an outboard.

My partner points out that an outboard is just all around cheaper to maintain. Oil change: easy, spark plug: easy, starter: easy, new carb: easy.
But I do have a canoe that I need to fix fiberglass on and I will apply this to that.

Thank you so much.

Class 1 is rated for 2000Ib trailer GW and 200Ib tongue weight. What is your tralier GW and tongue weight?

Sooo... You bought this boat but now you've decided NOT to do the repairs? Is that what I'm hearing??

I think this is a boat that he was considering purchasing, and it's a 5.0L Ford OMC so it's most likely best he passed

Post #19 he said he was the Lucky Buyer. Hope he did not pay to much. This would have been testy fix for a seasoned Glasser and a real challenge for a novice which I think the OP is. There's a LOT to consider when taking on a repair of this magnitude.

Totally missed post 19.. I agree. If that was my boat, I'd have some fun with the chainsaw and a rented dumpster..
