So being the retard that i am.

i went to raise the bow of my boat in an attemp to draw any water in the front to the bilge.

without thinking i started cranking on my trailer to reaise the front. and heard a slight creak noise after about an 2 inches of lifting.

What was happening was that i had the Drive all the way down to about an inch from the ground, and when i raised the bow the bottom fin of the drive hit the floor and the weight of the boat was resting on that fin of the drive. i must have raised the bow another 3 inches with the drive on the ground. i didnt notice this untill i had jumped on the boat and messed with stuff for about 5 mins.

so i jumped and trimmed up and the boat sank like 3 inches into the trailer .

How bad was this on my transom, and the drive?

having alot of weight resting on the drive

I've done that before too, the creeking was probaly the trailer springs unloading, I doubt you could have hurt the transom or drive, when I did that very same thing I hurried up and lowered the trailer back then tilted the drive up, it didn't hurt anything, just scuffed up the fin a little as it dug into the gravel about 4".

As i understand it they have relief valves in the trim cylinders. If the force becomes to great (hit somthing) they will bleed off the pressure, allowing the drive to lower or raise.

I doubt that you did any harm to your boat. By virtue of what you did, the placement of load on the outdrive and transom was gradual and steady - no excessive shock forces. Basically, all you did was to place a load of maybe 1500 pounds on the boat. Considering that striking an underwater object would put a rapid load of much greater force on the boat, this really isn't a big deal.

An Alpha's max hp rating is 300ish. Do you know how much more power that is than what you rested on it? ;) Never mind the transom . . . Have a nice restful winter :)
