Re: how bout we get back to helping people fix their boats :)

Geez, I try to stay out of the crap most of the time but I feel that I should put in my 2 cents. If disgruntled is disgruntled and not just a instigator then why is he or she staying around and insulting some of the more knowledgeable contributers on this forum, there are other forums to goto. I am sorry if this offeneds anyone but these guys or for that matter anyone just cannot fix STUPID. Bob

I think this forum is above this type of nonsense and this post should be deleted.

Over the past 3 years I have learned a great deal about marine engines from the guys on here.

Yes, at times some got frustrated with me and I with them. It's very hard to accurately describe a problem over the internet and even more difficult to troubleshoot them.

But, this type of BS doesn't belong here....IMHO that is.

I have beaten up many times. It's been ok with me. It's like going to a new class, not doing any homework, and then here comes the professor to eat you alive. Some can be sarcastic, but these people get you through until your problem is solved. That's how it always ended for me and most people. I think we are fortunate to have Don and a few people like him who have kept this forum alive. Look at this - more than 10,000 topics posted and replied under this forum. That tells you that people here are doing good. And how many "thanks" have been posted? And they reply almost instantaneously, at any time of day. Get that from your marine shop. Malaki o maliit...

disgruntled, the help on this forum is FREE. If you don't like the helper's attitude, you can always pay the $70.00+ an hour at your local dealer.

The real mechs on here are doing everyone here a great service. So if they're a little annoyed or aggitated with some of the posts from newbies, so what? Don't **** them off. The rest of us appreciate their help and expertise.

If you want someone to hold your hand and talk nice to you, may I suggest trying the yellow pages under "escort services". ;)

the truth is..

i made this post after reading some responses to the topics posted by milkyway and Boatman..

it was not personal.. just commentary.. see people posting what seem like honest simple question just get jumped all over for no good reason..

anyway.. again this was not a personal attack on anyone.. just saying people could go about this without all the negativity..

I've taken a few beatings on here and probably gave one or two after one too many. I'M SORRY...(maybe)

And I've seen some others get the crap beaten out of them, when they probably shouldn't have. Hopefully they had their questions answered. Take it all with a grain of salt... And if you see a nasty post from me...it's probably been induced by a large quanity of 7&7's.

There is no debate that there are some here that offer invaluable expertise. They contribute hours of free advise.
If that expertise occasionally comes with a little salt - so be it.
Lets take this with a grain of salt:)

NL Disgruntled and I both emptied our posts, things got a little heated, it's over. Sure hope everyone decide to empty thier posts if it had anything in it I said.
I screwed up, and have been getting a little  testy in a few posts.
Months ago I said when I start acting stupid for someone to tell me. Well, disgruntled did, and of course I got defensive.... It's my nature, and I fought back.
Suddenly when Tony made his post I remembered.
Let's all just drop it and go back to what this place was designed for.

Sorry Uncle Lloyd, I screwed up.
