How can I determine if my Prop is the right one?

Hello all. Hopefully there are some people out there that might be able to help me out. I have a 1974 Revelcraft, and know you will not find much about it on the web, that had a rebuilt ford 351w 240 HP inboard made by Pleasurecraft Marine. Now WOT rpms are according to the manual 4400, and cruising rpms are at 3600. The boat seems very sluggish and I was wondering if the right prop was on the boat. Does anyone have any experience out there that knows what the numbers such as size and pitch that the prop should be. We are talking about a cabin cruiser at 32' and has got to way atleast 10,000 lbs.

Thanks

We need to know the present max rpm and speed and the prop size, should be on the prop -- X--.I'll assume it is a straight dr.
It would seem to me that at 240 hp it might seem a little sluggish.Especially
with a gang on board.I found a couple of boats around 10,000 around 500hp
and planing time was around 8 seconds. I think its safe to say yours would be about double.
