How can I fix a scratch on my black Mercury 50 cowling?

Hello Everyone,
I accidently scratched my black cowling this weekend (fishing and floated into a tree) - the motor is a 2005 Mercury 50. The scratch is about 2 inches - and not deep. The scratch appears white against the black.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for repairing this. I don't need to get it perfect, just cover it up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Joseph,

Merc sell spray cans in the colour of your engine, it's call "Phantom Black"... If the decal has been damaged, they also sell new ones.

Chris, thanks for the reply. I guess I can try touching it up with that, trying to blend it in as best possible.

Does anyone have any tips for touching up a small scratch? Would it just be best to tape off the scratched area and spray that only?
