The front bow support on my trailer is way too high, this is how I got it from the PO, after inspecting it, everything is "bottomed out" so to speak and at it lowest setting, is cutting a chunk out of the support my only option? Trailer is in overall great shape, and I dont have access to a welder, only an 4 1/2" angle grinder, I mean do I have any other choices? And will an angle grinder even cut thru that material? And im sure this is a dumb question but is that support even that important? Boat sits on the bunks just fine, launch ramp is only 5 residential block from my house, 25 mph usualy less.... Thanks guys!Trailernose2.jpg

The post is two part, bolted together. It looks like you could take it apart and cut a piece off the lower section. Drill new bolt holes and put her back together in a shorter configuration.
Back up a bit and give us a picture of the entire post as well as the nose of the boat.
In the mean time here is what I think might work.

Thanks for the help, your rendering looks spot on, this is the only other pic of it I have on my phone as im at work now iboatsing :D so my next question is, will an angle grinder w/ metal cutoff wheel be able to tackle that metal? To be honest im not even sure what type of metal it is, but it def. Is 2 part post...Wholefrnt.jpg

Edit: after looking more, ill probably have to cut both parts of the post as I think the winch will bottom out on the support? Does that sound correct?

A good thin cutoff wheel should work well.
I agree that both parts of the post will need to be cut. I had to do that with the photo to get the winch low enough.

....why not raise the front roller and adjust the angle of the bunks?
