Re: How can I install a Faria Tachometer/Hour Meter for a Yamaha 8.8Hp(Oops! - 8Hp T8
T8DPLR.
T is high thrust,8 is shaft horespower,D is a new model designator, P is power trim with electric start,L is 20" shaft and R is remote control.
all the stuff you need for the tach other than the correct tach and harness is on the engine already.
only consideration is the tach pole setting will now be a 6 pole so make sure whatever tach is used can be set to 6 pole.
while rather pricey the yamaha digital tach has an hourmeter plus visuals for overtemp or oil pressure indicates.
that and its plug and play.
the reason for the first post is yamaha and suzuki both actually manufacture engines that we dont see in the US market.
as I am behind a monitor and cant see nor know where the motor is all I can go by is what I read.
