I have a 86 Bayliner Capri with the 85HP Force Motor. Some Capri's came with a temperature gauge and there is even an empty spot on my dash for the gauge. I want to install one so I can keep an eye on how hot its running. I know it has a buzzer for when it overheats, but I want the extra assurance of being able to see it on a gauge.

Read the sticky on adding a tell tale the "screw/plug" that is removed is 1/8npt i believe that is the size sender you need. just install the sender where you removed that plug and thats it. Well thats what i did and it reads fine. good luck

try to find a name brand gauge that way you can purchase A sender from the same company so the resistance values are right in the sender... that way it will read the right temp... any gauge brand will work just get matching sender... and read the tell tale sticky at the top of this section to double check the size for the sender im pretty sure its 1/8th npt but just double check in case im wrong.
