I recieved a small dent in the driver side door of my car, no paint damage occured, it appears that i may be able to undo this by pulling the dent out with a strong suction device of some sort.

Can this method work?.....Or What is a better way to undo the damage?

I've done it with a dent in my fender using a toilet plunger believe it or not.

I have tried that about an hour ago it did'nt work, perhaps i should've said Ding instead of dent.
I am considering to try the Hot glue method using one of those inexpensive kits that they sell at Walmart, but i was wondering if those things are a gimmick.
Have anyone had any success using such method?

Try this, it may or may not give results but it is a trick used on hail hits. Heat the dent good and warm with a hair dryer. As hot as the hair dryer will go without damaging the paint. Do not use a heat gun as it is too powerful and you will get carried away and bubble the paint. Heat with hair dryer as hot as you can (still keep eye on paint in case you have a real powerful dryer). As soon as your at temperature place a chunk of ice on the dent. Wrap ice in towel or baggy if you need to or big chunk directly on the dent. Repeat process a few times as it may take a couple of cycles to get the dent to pop. Ice directly on the dent is best with no baggy or towel, you need that shock factor. Piece of dry ice may even be better and its cheap at the grocery store.

Caution: Too much heat and your paint is ruined!!!

This will absolutely work if the dent is small. I have used this method (kind of) and it is super easy. However, instead of ice, after the heat is applied, I spray the area with one of those cans of "air" (like you use to clean the keyboard of a computer).

Do you have tools and know-how to take the door panel off the inside of the door? It may gain you access to be able to just pop the dent out from the inside. Either that or save yourself the hassle, and just call one of those paintless dent repair places like "The Dent Wizard".

bootle, the glue/stud kits may work, but they could easily damage your paint. The heat followed by cold is a little too redneck for me.
The way Professional Paintless Dent Removal companies do it is to push the dent back out from the inside with some specialized rodlike tools.
Look up Dent Wizard or any other paintless dent repair service in your area. It may cost $100 but it'll be done right. And there has to be those services in your area, all the car dealers use them and when you have a hail storm, those dents are removed by using PDR.

As a auto body man with 42 years experience,my advice is to call a pro.Paintless dent repair requires training, special tools, and tons of patience.
I can't do it,I lack the patience and restraint. You could possibly make the damage worse, and then you'll be getting an estimate for painting the door.
If the car is a tough color to match,it could require blending paint into the adjacent panels. You might have a $100 PDR repair,or a $600-$800 paint repair, after you attempt it yourself. Call a Pro.

Go to a major car dealer and make friends with the used car manager.... ask when the PDR guy is coming around or ask for the phone #. These PDR guys will usually do a side job off the books cheaper.......

Do not even bother to try it yourself...... the PDR people are amazing!

I have used PDR guys more than once. Take off any panels that you can ahead of time to make it easier for them to get to the repair area. This will usually save you a few bucks. I have always paid between 20 and 65 bucks for them to get a dent out. They jobs have always turned out near perfect, if not perfect.

Re: How can i repair a small dent?

I try to disguise the small dent. Its a neat trick. Look around for something big, round and hard (I find the head of the person who made the dent works good) and pound the small dent repeatedly and with great force. The small dent will be cleverly disguised as a large dent, so much so, that the actual small dent may not even be visible.

As an added bonus, the person who's head you were using to disguise the dent has learned the value of not creating a small dent to begin with.

Re: How can i repair a small dent?

A fathers day gift from my son was to take my Tundra in to his dealership and have the dent guy give it the once over. I still look twice, three times trying to see where the old dents were. These guys are great and I agree with xxx..give him access if you can. Some doors they go in from the top and not thru the panel, so be aware..
