I am looking for help on how to tell which power head i have because im not sure if someone has swapped power heads into a mid section that i own i bought it pre owned, so basically i want to time this power head to 23-25 BDTC aslong as its yamaha 150etlk 1985, one of the previous owners had it timed and what i found is i had to move the timing pointer all the way to one side per using the dial indicator and and setting no.1 at 0.14" BTDC, and now it shows that it is timed at 19 BTDC full advance which i believe is what a pro 150 Yamaha would be timed at, im just confused maybe the previous person swapped a pro 150 PH into this mid section, or timed it wrong or just timed it wrong because they didnt check the pointer adjustment first. the bracket data plate clearly states 150ETLK but someone has an after market looking hood decal says 150 pro. is there anyway to identify the block from the two power heads? I hope someone can answer this please.
