Hey Boom, I hate to agree with Bro Haut here, but: I do. That said: It is probably best to vest voting as we now do with the broad (living), non felon, over 18, US citizens in the population, regardless of race or gender or net worth. Yer right about the Cornstitution, and the founders, (Hamilton n' Madison et al) debated restricting the new democray in many ways hence: the electoral college et al, and the CORNSTITUTION itself. They did fear the sheeple!! I admit that it is dangerous for our Country to allow an underclass, (who are not known for thinking too much), to vote for politicians, (DEMOCRATS) who run on platforms designed to transfer wealth and hook them on the government ***; and keep them down there buy denying them the options of voutchers allowing choice with the taxpayer funded education dollars, so they can get better educations for their children rather then the public monopoly that insures the continuation of dependency. With modern polling techniques, the Democrats are very smug in their knowledge that these people will support their anti American policies for additional benifits. That is what we have: Boom. It is still the best system that exists in the world today, and those of us who get it must continue to educate people we know. Ultimitally: the Baby Boomers will live out their lives and the following generations, (who are generally less self absorbed, and more Cornservative), will bring the pendulum back our way. Says who Haut. Show me in the Constitution where the right to vote, in national elections, is written. The net result of your premise is that all those near-do-wells end up renaming your County with some politically correct name.
The people who hold their own weight should be able to vote, those that rely on the public teat for their daily sustanance have absolutely no right to get into my pocketbook by vote.
