Don't know if you get them over there, but in Europe they sell aluminum flat-pack car-toppers - small boats that lift off the car and open out once you've got to the water.

What you want is a sort of extendable bow-rider cum centre-console cum walkaround cum cuddy cum pontoon boat. Pull it outta the trunk, press a button and go!

Sell 'em by the million, like Model T's.

Mark, go down to your friendly "home supply store" and buy that hard foam. It comes in various widths and thicknesses.
Then glue it to a piece of plywood of the appropriate size. Sand the edges for safety and then cover the plywood with that non-slip shelf-liner stuff (I use it for everything on my boat!). It would be easy to haul around in the boat when it's on the trailer, and you could even tow it in the water.

Then be prepared for discussions by those who know you concerning your social status ("Rednecks in Joisey?") Have to say I'm with those who like your boat the way it is.....cabin fever starting already???!!!

f_inscreenname,

Don't worry, its not for the boat in my Avatar. Just some idea I have for a larger boat. I'm not gonna mess up that little boat.

Stillfishin,

I will have to look into one of those car toppers.

Capn Mike,

Your right. Might be too much for the folks in the Hamptons, LI. LOL!

And, wajajaja,

I know what you mean. This is time of year boating wasteland in NJ. I sometimes walk out to the boat and stick my head under the cover just to make sure it's still OK and get a little wiff of that wonderful boat smell.

Oh well. It's time for bed.

Mark
