Re: How did you come up with your boat name
First off I'm new to posting on this forum but have been lurking since last year searching threads for tips and so on. It's been a awesome source for questions I've had and things I have stumbled upon and learned. So thanks to everybody who contributes.
Secondly, I named my boat "WAR EAGLE" ....... I know kinda lame sounding to say it to some but when I was researching on naming a boat the most common thing I ran across was you should name it something that meant something special to you. I chose this for two reasons. Most people know that war eagle is associated with Auburn University and we are the Auburn Tigers. Some people however also say we have a identity crisis often asking what are you guys tigers or eagles. With that said you often find yourself on gameday, get togethers, vacations, airports ect explaining the real story behind it all. War eagle is Auburn's motto and battle cry. So my first reason would obviously be for naming the boat war eagle is for my deep love for the university and everything it represents. Secondly war eagle to the Auburn family means many things. To me and many others it means Hello, how are you, good to see you, glad your here, I respect you, see you soon, it's how you open and close many friendly conversations with people that you love and respect or even just a simple hello in passing with someone you never met but know they are Auburn men and women. So with all that said me and my wife boat most of the time with a group of friends or family on weekends on Lake Guntersville, AL and when we are there it's our release from life to just relax and have fun. So when people are on my boat or tied up and anchored together with friends we want people to feel welcome, respected, have a wonderful time, know they are welcomed back and see you next weekend. That's why we named her WAR EAGLE.
