How do coils cone out of a 1980 9.9?

How do the coils come out of the mag plate? I need to check them. Thanks

On the side is a chrome strip with the ends bent it holds the coil in place
Look up a parts diagram and it shows the strip.

How are you testing the coil?

CDI has directions for replacing but no tests.
Usually they work or not?.

Checking it with a multi meter for continuity between the wires.
