I have rebuilt the drive on my mercruiser and did not mark where the trim tab was. I need to know what the trim tab does and how to adjust it. Can anyone help me out??
The trim tab helps you keep straight while underway. I suggest simply putting it straight ahead and then do a trial and error. If memory serves, you adjust it in the direction your boat is going. In other words, if it tends to pull to the right, then turn the tab to the right. If that makes it worse, try it the other way.
