these are the ones that the refill reservoir is not in the steering column. it is in a separate tank in the rear by the outboard mtor. i did disconnect to work on motor. do i just loosen the two hose that connect to the cylinder that controls steering and then turn wheel to max. left and then max. right>? any help would be apprec. thanks.

hello
does your resevoir have the reservalve mounted underneath it?
if it does there are two nuts that are pinned to the bolts. I am going from memory here so I may miss a step. hook all lines up. open the pressure valves on the reservalve assy. fill the reservoir. the pressure valves are the pinned nuts. pressurize the system to 35 psi. turn the highest helm to extend the ram while bleeding off the air. close the bleeder and repeat going the other way. then you have to turn the helm slowly left and right 60 times . then close the reservalves. makes sure you always have fluid in the sight glass on the resevoir and the system will hold 30 psi when your done. I will try to remember to double check my instruction book at work today
good luck and keep posting

(Edit -- Rodbolt and I were writing at the same time. If he has the instruction sheet youre all set!)

You have the 50 series helm with the 3 line pressurized system. Its going to help a lot to know which cylinder you have (K-6, K-10 or K-13,14). Single helm or multiple?

Here's the deal -- Hynautic had instruction sheets they would fax. All the Hynautic folks are gone since Morse sold out to Teleflex. Gather as much info as you can and contact T-flex. If they still have those sheets it'll make the explanation very easy. One thing -- its very important to use the correct fluid. Lots of hydraulic fluid will work but not properly. The T-flex Sea Star fluid is very good.

Make sure you tell them you have the 50 series helm, not the 80 or the Morol.

Good luck!
