How do i bypass the ignition switch

I have a 72 evinrude 50hp lark. I went to start it the other day and the key broke off in the ignition switch. Does anyone know how i can just wire a pushbutton in place of the ignition switch?

Why not get a key from a dealer? They only used a small number of unique ignition keys. There's a number stamped on the key or the lock tumbler which ID's the key needed.

I mounted a push button and it works fine. Just wire it inline with the positive wire form your battery to the solenoid. You can use the existing wire from your key switch, taking the key switch out of the circuit.
